But as mentioning is it good to efile or manual filing. as i said this is the case , I have moved after filing 485 my file is at NSC , for CT direct centre is VSC and many ppl have adviced to send file to NSC as my 485 is at NSC. Hence i have decided to file for Manual filing as i am new to Efiling and i dont want it to suggest this to go to VSC which will delay the case ? am i making sense?

I feel a little bit relieved now.
I read now about Direct Filing....and I understood that if you apply after july 30...you can send the application either to Nebraska or Texas. Hopefully I'm right in this matter.

The OP poster was not scorning against the average american, I think you are mixing two issues up, I am sure he has done his share of charity work, and he probably sympathizes with families who don't have a job, I don't think you can direct your anger against him.
This is a capitalistic society not a communist or a socialist society, the market will/should balance itself out, new industries come up, people get hired, if the attitude of the people is protectionist, which it is, it stifles innovation and growth, which in turns stifles the growth of new companies, which in turn would have helped the folks laid off get a job. Being emotional is OK, but one must be pragmatic. That said, i believe charity begins at home, one must take care of its own kith and kin before extending arms to others.

Your mention of 30 miles maximum, I believe, refers to distance to your work place. It is a lot of distance to commute at rush time. Nevertheless, Ferederick County is your best bet, where a small SFH or a good size TH can be found for your price.
BTW, why do you need "Lots of Indians". Don't you want to be part of the main stream if you have decided to live here?

While on AoS, are we classified as US Resident - as long as we pass the IRS resident test of presence in US.

While AoS is pending, the status is Temp US Resident. This is same on H1/L1/H4/L2.
This is nothing to do with status for tax filing. Example: one staying at B1 status for 183+ days will be classified as US resident just for tax filing (if he has income such as share income), for all other purposes he is still a visitor.

i had been to SBA and the free seminars for entrepreneurs conducted by them. They hold one-one meetings and try to know what you exactly want to do and tell you how to proceed. It is an goverment organization with volunteers who are reteired high ranking officers from different field. They gave me brochures and booklets and told me to write a business plan. Anyway, you can google SBA and find the nearest local office and ask them for a appointment.

My employer filed 7th year extension of my H1b and the receipt date is Aug 10. My current H1b expires on Oct 12th.

In US the nice thing about SSA is unemployment and disability security.
But 10 years is a long time to wait on a temporary visa to get your social security back.. There were some discussions to reduce this to 3 years but that talk is dead now.
In India, the best part is 100% compulsory employer contribution. But
Indian PF sucks with rising inflation and lack of accountability.
And we all know how the employers would "Package" their "contribution".
This latest development will sting Indian origin GC holders and US citizens who go back to work in India and MNC employees working abroad.

In the article is was estimated that Indian workers are contributing $1.5 Billion dollars in SSA taxes each year. Not everyone works here for 10 years to get the benefits. Hence its only natural for India to charge US citizens working in India if repatriation of benefits is not allowed.

Thanks for the response. I consulted attorney murthy, who advised me to file I-140 & I-485 again , explaining all the facts.
Attorney just put all the documents of denial, the MTR and the new I-140 application along with 485 with a cover letter that the denial was what we consider is erroroneous, so refiling with a copy of labor. I have to wait and see what happens.
Its rather a tense moment as I am on my 7th year extension.

I have an LUD of 08/05/2007 on my 2006 approved I-140. I was hoping, like so many of us, that it meant CIS was entering my 485 in the system. But looking at the trend, it seems like CIS may only be gathering data on how many approved I-140 are currently in the system and make projections/plans for future work load etc.

You can renew your license online, and the length or the nature of the validity of your immigration status has no influence on the type or duration of the driver's license. How long this will stay like this in MA is anybody's guess. I am sure they will also become restrictive when pressure is brought on by REAL ID regulations.

This is all India specific and specific to EB2. I did not add years2006 and 2007 as my PD is in 2005. But I did do it upto dec 2005.
1. You can expect the spill over from EB1 in big way
2. You can expect spillover from EB2 ROW in a big way
This should help clear backlog atleast upto 2004 cases. However the interfiling from EB3 to EB2 could stop the backlog from being reduced.

Finally my EB-2 Sch-A Cat.II I-140 got approved on Oct-30. I got five emails today.
I submitted my I-140 as regular and then upgraded to Premium a week before on Oct-25.
thanks to all of you on this important forums who helped me lot in the process.
Now I will be enjoying ride of Retrogession Starting from Nov-1 in Sch-A cases.
Will Keep posted about I-485 as it develops.
Good luck to all.
