Exactly! That's why the iMacs didn't get the Intel procssors until 7 months after the Mac Pros, right?
Well the reason for that is because Apple was waiting for the Xeon "Woodcrest" processors to put into the Mac Pro. A Core Duo in a Mac Pro...I don't think so.

Ok, iPod is fine for a TM.
aiPod and eyePod, That's a bit different.
But POD!!!
So, are Apple going to sue the BBC (amongst other) for having Pod casts? Everytime a member of the media of the celeb mention podcast, are Apple going to chase royalties???
This is really quite close to the mark!
What about the the phrase "2 peas in a pod"?...
It may just be me, but if this continues, I'm going to throw out all my things MAC, and go back to Micr$oft. That's how really ANTI them I'm feeling at the moment.
OI! APPLE LAWERS!!! YEAH YOU!!! Read some Mintzberg, or Mead, or (and I'd strongly advise this) Andrew Bailey. Basically, get those HBS grads out of your org and stop using crappy outdated Business School Methods. It was once the way to go. But what they don't consider are Gender and Cultures! You wanna piss me off: You loose my custom.
Sorry for the moan, but the litigation era was over in the 90's.
It's about Love Marks now, and your Lawers are hurting your brand!!! Fix it before it's too late!

Just shows Apple is thinking where others do not. Apple are providing or creating outlets for their devices while other companies just produce mp3 players.

Tiny discounts like that are why people will buy from places like Amazon since even if the price is identical they save much more on the sales tax.

^ oh well, you disprove.
I along with hundreds of thousands of others don't think it's such an awfully "sad" thing to do spending 10 seconds of our day purchasing a track that may very well give us all a good chuckle over Christmas.
Oh I guess you must be right then.

I don't have much time right now (I'm kind of in class at the moment) but I think I figured out how to edit categories, just edit the category page like any normal page, I'm going to test it out with a new category later when I have more time to figure out how to delete my test category after creating it (yes I'm very new to wiki editing).
Only sysops can delete pages. If you want to create a test category I can delete it when you're done with it.

awesome weaponized imacs.
Thinner, lighter iPhones wouldn't go astray. Unibody kevlar iPhones and Macs? That would be neat.

The thread here is funny. So many off topic rambles.
But... this seems like a great thing! Fast I/O between the iOS device and the Mac. It will make for amazingly fast throughput and it standardizes on one port. Yes, another change, but in the long run, it should be awesome. Let's hope this happens.

Seriously, who really cares about this?
Right.
CNN putting a news link on their home page must mean nobody is interested.

T-Mobile is not exactly a financial beast either... Can they afford to give $400 subsidies on iPhones?
Most of T-Mobile is owned by Deutsche Telekom... they have very deep pockets...

because it's turned on by default. it should be off by default (IMO) and then turned on as an option. many people aren't aware that Facebook's new "features" are almost always on when rolled out.
It will only update if you allow it to use your location, and then after that only if you tap the places icon. It doesn't update your location automatically.

I've driven through Valle Crucis (http://www.vallecrucis.com/) a couple times, but never stayed. It's a gorgeous, isolated N.C. mountain town. May be farther than you're willing to drive, though--I'd guess about 8 hours from Maryland.

Who honestly cares? Lame. I saw a black guy and a mexican guy chatting outside a bookstore yesterday. Let's focus on that.
Nice dude, you really had to go there right? A good'ol racist comment.

The iMac G5 were just updated in May 2005. There is a slim to none chance that there will be an update until MWSF JAN 2006. :)

In response to all the "Recommend Me a Camera/Lens/Editor etc" threads, I offer this. Comments or additions?
Never Show Your Work To Anyone
Read Only "Expert Photographer" Blogs, Articles, and Books
Leave Your Camera On Auto......
Buy A New and More Expensive Camera Because It'll Make Better Pictures
Spend Too Much Time Mastering Photoshop
Mine is this: Fixate on one style of photography or subject.
Original stolen from PIXIQ... (http://www.pixiq.com/article/how-to-work-hard-at-photography-and-still-suck)

The one in bold is what I see the most. I've done photography for years and see new people get into the game and worry about the wrong things. Photoshop being one of them. Photoshop shouldn't even come to someones mind.
Learn the camera, learn composition, learn lighting, learn photographic techniques to get what you want such as second curtain sync, hyperfocal distancing, etc. Once you can get it done right in camera then you can take it to the next level in photoshop (skin smoothing, removing hair wisps, correcting lens distortion, etc.).
Too many people want to be a pro right out of the gate, they buy photoshop, get a NAPP membership, a fancy computer (that is 99% of the time overkill), raid storage when they've only shot 500 pictures, etc but never bother to learn the fundamentals.
I'm all for learning on Digital, I think it helps someone learn better, but focus on learning the most important and fundamental things first, then learn about the post processing. A picture can still look fantastic without running it through photoshop.

I downloaded it and tested it out a bit this afternoon.
First thoughts, Voice is real tinny sounding and not the easiest to understand.
Downloading maps was not a problem in the city at city speeds, on the highway that's another story, with in a couple miles the map ran out and never really did catch up till I got off the highway about 10 miles later with a full signal 3G connection.
The interface is nice and is very easy to use. Maps are good turn by turned was flawless. Checked out how current the maps where by going through a new subdivision only about 2 months old and it found all the street names no problem.

When you get a HD, demos, demos, demos, demos...
The Blur demo was a lot of fun, the Split Second demo wasn't bad, and now I am hooked on the Crackdown 2 demo.

guess the bigger question
will this be available in coach or is this just a first class option?

Looks like an excellent update. By the looks of things they've reduced the system requirements, which may mean it will be less of a resource hog.
The MacBook is now officially supported, along with older PowerPC models too.
Kudos to Apple for making it a free update, although there'd have justifiably been an outcry if it wasn't.
Edit: RAW support updates also point to OS X 10.4.8 being released this week too (as per previous poster's observation).

So, it's most likely they are going do these things.
1. One device that will work on both VZ and AT&T network
2. 32GB and 64G storage.
3. 1080P recording with 8 megapixel camera
4. A5 chip
5. Maybe higher ram or maybe not.
6. Throw in something new... like better gyroscope or something to just make iPhone 4 outdated, but nothing major.
This is BS. It's not good enough, apple.
