i filed for me and my wife through the lawyer on july 6th at NSC. I did not and havent received a receipt; however, 2 days ago we both received the EAD card (no AP yet) through the mail. I THEN went and checked the status online, and there it said cards had been ordered for processing.
Also, it turns out my lawyer had received the receipt notice on Sept. 18th, but i didnt.
Hope you get yours soon.

The reason for my saying so....this election is different from others. Very tight race and either party do not want to pass any bill that would negatively affect the results.
Our problem is the least of the problems the country is facing right now.
They would pass bill which would stimuate economy not help EB3 folks(who already have EADs) to get GC and make them sleep easily.
So let us be patient. Even if we get GCs...it is not useful for either parties....because we cannot vote.
Secondly, GOVT would lose EAD renewal, AP revenue etc.
So let us get out the illusion that our bills would be passed....it is not going to help the ailing economy. It might help lawyers to earn some good bucks.
my understanding of the US system is this ..a law passes in 2 scenarios ..one is if there is a great need due to urgent issues (example homeland security etc) and the second one is lobbying ..which takes place behind the scenes
(for e.g. nurse lobbyists, university lobbyists - increase of student OPT, oil companies, home builders, tech lobbyists etc etc)
earlier tech lobby was responsible for passage of most immi bills ..but nowadays they have more flexibility and hence they maynot be supporting much in terms of money. (because they simply outsource or they use company to company transfers).
so the only hope is for a new group of lobbyists to come in the picture and the only one that I can think of is the realtors / home builders etc. (for our benefit)
ofcourse the problem for us is that homebuilders / realtors are lobbying for passage of tax credits for new buyers etc (and hence you can see the speed at which housing bill is cruising) ..now if someone were to make a link between immi and housing ..then who knows something could happen

in NY/Nj area QA rates are really getting down. Last couple of weeks I conducted few interviews and found that people are ready to work at $25.00 and some non-experiences candidates offered their services free for couple of months to just gain some real experience.

Details says your friend and the title says you (used 'I').

My friend's wife was did shop lifting in JC penny store around $30 in New Jersey,but not arrested,police was taken pinger prints and case filed in Feb 2007,she went court and accepted guilty,judgement is given $300 fine and two years not enter into store premisis.
As per judgement fulfilled.Now she is in India,she has to attend H4 visa and enter to USA.Is there any problem getting H4 visa and deportation issue in USA.

One never knows on how CIR will encompass the legality of the undocumented.
My assumption is that it will give them a path that will include fines and of course a duration like 5 years or something. This will mean that in the longer term they will qualify for the healthcare if they adhere to the norms.
These are just my assumptions. If there is a concern to bring undocumented folks into legality then why not give them health benefits if they are willing to get converted into legal way. This may not be a Day 1 scenario of healthcare. But from my viewpoint they still tie in indirect terms (CIR and healthcare vs undocumented folks).

The USCIS has returned the my entire package - I-140, I-485, I-131 and I-765 - to my lawyer by mistake.
The package was received at the Nebraska Service Center on July 2nd received by J Barrett at 10:25 AM. Nebraska follows a policy of transferring a certain number of their cases to the Texas Service Center to help with the work. So mine went to Texas.
Texas sent it back to my lawyer with a standard form letter telling us that we have to send it to the office that has proper jurisdiction, i.e. the Nebraska Service Center. The letter date shows 10/05/2007. The I-485, I-131, I-765 applications, and I-140 petition have notes with the dates July 2 and July 3 in them.

Guys,
I am seeing in CRIS, Soft LUD's on old H1B extentions dated 12/30/07 (2006,2007) while none recent one on 140/485!
Any ideas to help me understand. My 140/485 were filed in July 2007 concurrently. FP/EAD/AP were done.

I know that applying for citizenship is not mandatory..you can have a PR and continue to be so for as long as you like....Is there a shell life for PR ...can you keep renewing it indefinitely ?

What is NOID? If i don't respond do i have the time to respond. How much time do i have?

I made out onc check in the amount of $745 ($395 I-485 + $170 I-131 (AP) + $180 I-765 (EAD)) Payble to U.S Citizenship and Immigration Service. Now when I see the forms online it says the checks should be payable to Department of Homeland Security. Should I ask the lawyer to hold on to the application and send new checks.
Also , should I write three separate checks for $395 $170 $180. Just to make sure if there is an error in say Advanced payroll application, USCIS will keep the two check and send me back the Advanced Parol application.
