Oh man! I cancelled my preorder (waiting till summer when we get the proper games) but I've just played around with a Japanese import. It works! It really friggin works! Quite heavy though, feels more like a PSP.
Just waiting on Ocarina of Time, Kid Icarus and the download shop to open...

Strange coincidence. Android fanboy tears have increased about 40% too.
LOL! Good one!
This sort of momentum from Apple in the Tablet market is going to be tough to overcome.

Hopefully this will address the issues some users have seen with the Mac Pro apparently not being able to boot beyond a black screen when using the XP disc to boot from. Although I would think that is more an issue of GFX than firmware on the Mac Pro...maybe they're the same thing!
You can't boot XP from CD on a Mac. You can't you can't you can't. The Mac boots using EFI, which XP doesn't support.
You need to use Boot Camp to install it, as legacy BIOS emulation has to be loaded specifically for XP.

How would one find the answer to this?
Exactly. I'm just pointing out that it is illogical to draw the conclusion the article did about the effects of tax cuts. The fact that the economy has not improved does not prove that tax cuts were bad for the states that implemented them because we do not know how they would have fared without those cuts. And it is simply a matter of balancing the budget. If they're cutting taxes, they just need to cut enough spending to be balanced. If they expected to cut taxes, not cut spending, and have a balanced budget then stupidity, not the tax cuts, are to blame.
The weather sucks big time in Washington state, Texas is much nicer (so I hear). A great many natives of the PNW can become real excretory orifices when they find out you are from California.
I'm turning 30 next month and have resolved to spend 6-9 months of the each year traveling from now on. So I really just need a little studio in a chill town for me to relax from all that traveling. So tax benefits are a huge motive for me. I'm going to take a road trip to check out all the major cities once I get back from China. I don't think Texans will take it too hard on me since I'm quite laissez faire, although I will disagree with them on religious and social issues... I'll probably go where the best food and nightlife is.

For those of us not in a region where retailers give out beta keys (Japan in my case), does anyone have any idea how to get a beta key? I signed up in Battle.net, but Blizzard hasn't deemed me worthy it seems.

What I find to damn stupid is that all competitors except Apple use Android or Honeycomb. WTF!
They are comparing ipad to other tablets essentially running the same effing OS.
Maybe because that's the only competitor there is right now? No WebOS tablet released. No BlackBerryOS tablet released. I guess technically they could've put some Windows 7 devices on there, but that would've been embarrassing ;)

Canada, you're screwed. :(
Oh please. If the NDP had got in then Canada would be royally screwed. The NDP has a poor record in a number of provinces of running the provincial governments into deep deficits and scaring away businesses.
I would take the opinion piece from someone with the Toronto Star with a little bit of salt. They are like the Huffington Post of Canada or a left leaning Canadian version of those British tabloids that they try to pass for "newspapers" in England.

let us know frame rates etc!
My Late-2009 Mac Pro runs it on Ultra settings with no lag or stuttering. I don't know the frame rate, but it looks like it's at least 50fps to me. Very smooth, even during very large battles.
Your i7 iMac should be fine.

If you can watch an HD movie over your satilite or cable system then somehow the cable or stilite company found a way to electronically distribute the HD content to you. That 25GB of data found a way to get into your house. Not only did it get into the huse but it did it in real time
Exactly - I watch HD content and HD on-demand nearly every day in my house. if my crappy cable provider can deliver this nearly any mega-corp can.

Cut defence,
<Sorry, I needed a quote.> ;)
Defence? WTF!!!! Has anyone actually attacked the U.S. mainland since 9/11??
It should be offence, if anything, as in throwing their weight about the World.
And the U.S. taxpayers are working their asses off, to support this endeavour.
Nuts, all nuts.

What do you mean?
I mean your attempted joke about a newer version coming out by Christmas was a poor effort, and that further attempts could be better.

Ok ignore my ignorance.....
but my computer is on 24h a day, I never turn it off, so it would make sense for me to help the MR cause. I have tried setting it up before but it never 'did' anything. Help?

Lion Server
Simply a better server.
Lion Server is now part of Mac OS X Lion. Its easy to set up your Mac as a server and take advantage of the many services Lion Server has to offer. Here are just a few of the new features that make server deployment faster, easier, and more powerful than ever.
That doesn't say anything about the preview.

Well people prefer to buy AT&T right now, hence out of stock and goin for much more on ebay, soo the stats are wrong...
They obviously polled people in non-AT&T markets, who live in the mid-west, who wouldn't buy one anyway.

I've heard that the older Arcade and Pro models are no long in production.
The older models are no longer being made, that is correct.
What is going to happen once they're no longer in stock?
My guess, as I stated earlier...
...Then next year, after the launch of Kinect has settled in, and the older models are pretty well phased out, they could introduce a wider range of models.
